Keswick Osprey watch
April – September
Keswick’s three 2008 osprey chicks survived despite heavy rain and high winds at their Lakeland nest. They hatched at the Bassenthwaite Lake nest, where male osprey Fish King found a new mate after his long-term female, GreenXS, failed to return from Africa. We wonder what will happen this year? Don’t clog the roads looking for a good view. Go strait to the lookout point at Dodd Wood near Mirehouse overlooking Bassenthwaite lake for the best view of these wonderful birds of prey.
